A Message from the Director

As your Public Health Director, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your resilience and cooperation during the significant challenges we faced together over the past few years. As we move beyond the challenges of these crises, I am filled with hope and optimism for our community’s future. The strength and collaboration displayed during the COVID-19 pandemic and the flooding have been truly inspiring.  Our healthcare providers, community organizations, other partners, and YOU played a crucial role in our recovery. My team and I look forward to working with all our partners moving forward.

As we navigate through this period of recovery, I want to assure you that the Kentucky River District Health Department is focusing on fostering a healthier, safer, and more resilient community. My primary goal as your Public Health Director is to safeguard and improve the health and well-being of our community. Our dedicated team is committed to providing high-quality services, promoting healthy lifestyles, and preparing for and responding to public health emergencies.

KRDHD offers a wide range of resources and programs designed to address critical health issues, the following are a few examples of the services we offered:

      • HANDS: Help promote healthy pregnancies and births; healthy child growth and development; healthy, safe homes; and self-sufficient families.
      • Home Health: Providing quality in-home health care allowing people to remain at home.
      • Community Outreach: Educational campaigns and events to raise awareness about important health topics.
      • Emergency Preparedness: Information and resources to help you prepare for and respond to health emergencies.
      • Environmental Health: Efforts to ensure clean air, water, and safe living conditions for all residents.
